Introduction
Nourish ("we," "us," "our," or the "App") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. By using Nourish, you agree to the practices described here.
Nourish is currently in active development. As we add new features - including cloud sync, user accounts, and community features - this Privacy Policy will be updated, and we'll notify you of material changes within the App.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you use Nourish, you may choose to enter:
- Your name, username, and a profile photo
- Dietary preferences, allergens, and health-related information (such as calorie goals, weight, height, age, and biological sex, if you use the Health Profile feature)
- Recipes you create, save, or import (including from photos or web links)
- Feedback you submit through the in-app feedback form
Information Collected Automatically
The App may collect limited technical information to operate properly, such as crash logs and basic device information (device type, operating system version). We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers.
Where Your Information Is Stored
As of this version of Nourish, all of your personal data - including your profile, recipes, health information, and preferences - is stored locally on your device. We do not currently operate a server-side database or cloud account system. Your information is not transmitted to us or stored on our servers, except in the limited cases described below.
When cloud sync and account features become available in a future update, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe what is stored on our servers, how it is secured, and your rights regarding that data.
Information Sent to Third-Party Services
Some features in Nourish send limited information to third-party services in order to function:
- AI-powered features (such as Chef Nouri, recipe import from a photo or URL): when you use these features, the relevant text or image is sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to generate a response.
- Feedback form: feedback you submit is sent via email to our support inbox.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide and personalize the App's features, including meal planning, recipe adaptation, and the Health Profile tools
- Respond to feedback and support requests
- Improve the App's functionality and fix bugs
- Comply with legal obligations
Health and Dietary Information
Nourish's Health Profile feature allows you to optionally enter information such as your weight, height, age, biological sex, activity level, and logs of workouts, sleep, and water intake. This information is used solely to calculate estimates directly on your device, and is stored locally. Nourish is not a medical app, and this information is not reviewed by us or shared with healthcare providers.
Children's Privacy
Nourish is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Your Choices and Rights
Because most of your data is stored locally on your device, you have direct control over it:
- You can edit or delete your profile information, recipes, and logs at any time within the App
- You can delete the App to remove locally stored data from your device
- You can use the in-app Delete Account option to remove your local profile
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by the App. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Nourish evolves. We will update the "Last Updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the App.
